Robbers take staff, clients of Chunkatiya branch of Rupali Bank hostage

A group of robbers have entered the Chunkatiya branch of Rupali Bank in Keraniganj.

They have taken bank staff and clients hostage.

According to sources, robbers entered the branch at noon and closed all gates. Later, they took staff and clients inside the bank hostage.

Being informed, RAB and police members rushed to the scene and took position outside the branch. 
Locals also gathered outside the branch.

Members of law enforcement agencies are trying to persuade them to surrender. They are also trying to talk with robbers over mobile phone.

Keraniganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mazharul Islam is also present at the scene. 

He said, “two or three robbers are inside the bank."
