Saad follower held over death on Ijtema ground

A case has been filed over the killing of three people during a clash between two groups on the Biswa Ijtema ground.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police has arrested Muaz Bin Noor, spokesperson for the followers of Mawlana Saad.

Md Habib Iskandar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi West Police Station, confirmed the matter on Friday.

Police arrested him from his residence at Uttara in the capital.

Noor is the fifth accused in the list of 29 accused, said the OC.

On Thursday, SM Alam Hossain, an associate of the Alami Shura in the Zubair faction in Kishoreganj, filed a murder case against 29 named and several hundred unnamed people over the killing on December 18.
