Former Secretary Ismail Hossain put on two-day remand

Former Secretary Ismail Hossain, who was detained from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, has been put on a two-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Court of GM Farhan Ishtiaq granted the remand plea on Saturday.
Police sought seven days remand. The lawyer of the arrested opposed the remand prayer and moved for granting bail. The court after hearing both the sides, granted his two-day remand rejecting the bail petition.
The Immigration Police detained him from the airport while he was trying to fly for the United States of America (USA).
He was later handed over to the Biman Bandar Thana Police and police arrested him under section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
