Bangabandhu railway bridge renamed as Jamuna rail bridge

The name of newly built railway bridge over the Jamuna River has been changed. From now on it will be known as Jamuna Bridge.

Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Afzal Hossain revealed the information on Sunday (December 22).

The railway bridge built on the Jamuna River will no longer be named Bangabandhu Railway Bridge. It will now be inaugurated as the 'Jamuna Rail Bridge'. The government is mulling to inaugurate bridge in January 2025.

Earlier on Friday, Fahimul Islam, secretary of the Ministry of Railways of the Interim Government, visited the site and suggested naming structures after local places.
