Fire at Secretariat brought under control after 5 hours

A major blaze that broke out overnight at building No. 7 of the Secretariat, has been brought under control after five hours.

Fire Service Director General (DG) Zahed Kamal confirmed the matter around 6:45am on Thursday (December 26).

He said we were informed that the fire originated around 1:52am at the building. Our fire fighting units rushed to the spot within two minutes. 

A total of 19 units have been dispatched here and brought the blaze under control.

The reasons behind the fire could not be known immediately.
