High-powered committee to investigate secretariat fire

Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that a high-powered committee has been announced to investigate the fire that swept through four floors of the building number 7 of Bangladesh Secretariat.

The adviser said this at a briefing in front of the Secretariat on Thursday morning (December 26).

The committee may comprise 5 to 11 members, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said.

Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan and fire service officials were present at this time.

Earlier, a major blaze that broke out overnight at building No. 7 of the Secretariat, was brought under control after six hours.
