Surge in remittances shows positive sign

Bangladesh has recorded its highest remittance inflow in six months, with 242 crore US dollar received in the first 28 days of December. In this context, the country received 8.64 crore US dollar per day.
The updated report from Bangladesh Bank confirmed the data on Sunday (December 29).
In the first 28 days of December, remittance inflows reached 242 crore five lakh and 50,000 US dollar. For October and November, the total remittance through banking channels stood at 205 crore US dollar and 216 crore US dollar respectively.
Earlier, the received the highest remittances in the last 5 years in July 2020. The expatriates sent the highest 259.82 crore US dollar at that month.
