Interim govt to declare ‘Proclamation of July Uprising’

The interim government has taken an initiative to announce a ‘Proclamation of the July Uprising’ based on national consensus.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam disclosed this at an emergency press briefing at the state guest house Jamuna on Monday (December 30).

Meanwhile, chief organizer of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Sarjis Alam postponed the release the ‘Proclamation of the July Uprising’ which was scheduled on Tuesday.

Shafiqul Alam said this proclamation will be adopted to consolidate the unity of the people, the anti-fascist consciousness and the desire for state reform that was built through the July uprising, 

The proclamation will be prepared based on the opinions of all participating students, political parties and entities, including the anti-discrimination student movement that led the uprising, he said.
