Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud has said there is a plan to conduct a cleanliness drive in all ministries, including education ministry.
The adviser said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the online version of the textbook at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Wednesday (January 1).
He said the free books provided to students by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) will not be printed abroad from now.
He said that arrangements will be made for high-quality printing, paper and binding. From now, books will be printed in the country.
Corrupt officials involved in the printing industry have been transferred. The ACC will be asked to carry out investigation against the previous corrupt officials and employees of the Ministry of Education.
“Books have been printed at the previous market price. Those who created obstacles in our work will be listed and given to the government next year”, he added.
