Power of the people is greater than that of the govt: Dr Yunus

Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has said that the power of the people is greater than that of the government.

He said this while inaugurating the Walkathon and Social Service Conference organized by the department of Social Service on the occasion of National Social Service at Manik Mia Avenue on Thursday (January 2).

He said, "Social service is the responsibility of every person and the job of the ministry is to remind everyone so that no one forgets this responsibility or avoids it... I hope this call will reach everyone."

Meanwhile, he urged all to come forward at the individual level, rather than being 100% dependent on the government to push the country forward.

The Chief Adviser said, "Every person has a tendency to work for the benefit of others. That desire must be awakened. There is more joy in working for the welfare of others than doing something for oneself."
