ACC to probe illegal wealth of Munni Saha, her husband

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch an investigation into allegations of acquiring illegal wealth and abnormal bank transactions worth Tk134 crore against journalist and television presenter Munni Saha and her husband Kabir Hossain Taposh.
ACC’s Director General (Prevention), Md Akhter Hossain, confirmed the matter on Thursday (January 2).
The anti-graft body will probe allegations of Tk134 crore in bank transactions, a current balance of Tk14 crore, and the acquisition of unexplained wealth linked to Munni Saha and her husband, the proprietor of MS Promotion, Akhter Hossain said.
Earlier, in October, the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) had sought details of all bank accounts belonging to Munni Saha.
Munni started her journalism career with Daily Ajker Kagoj in 1991. Afterwards, she worked with Daily Bhorer Kagoj as a staff reporter. She also worked as a special correspondent at Ekushey Television.
She joined ATN Bangla in 2003 and became the head of news of ATN News in 2010. She was the chief executive editor of ATN News from 2016 till her resignation in 2023.
