Tk 33.87cr allocated to buy blankets for 495 upazilas

Taka 33 crore 87 lakh 50 thousand has been allocated from the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund and the Relief Ministry to buy 6 lakh 79 thousand pieces of blankets for distribution among the cold-stricken and distressed people to combat the ongoing winter.
A press release sent by Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Md. Enayet Hossain said this on Friday (January 3).
The blankets will be distributed among the cold-stricken people of 495 upazilas and all municipalities in 64 districts of eight divisions of the country.
At the beginning of winter, the ministry distributed 15,250 pieces of blankets among the cold-stricken people in 14 districts of the northern part of the country.
Deputy Commissioners and UNOs have already started purchasing blankets on an emergency basis and distributing.
The ministry has instructed the Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor the distribution and purchase of blankets.
