MDs of 6 banks, including 4 controlled by S Alam sent on leave

The managing directors of six banks, including four controlled by S Alam Group, have been sent on forced leave.
Bangladesh Bank issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (January 5).
The banks are – First Security Islami Bank, Social Islami Bank, Global Islami Bank, Union Bank, Exim Bank, and ICB Islamic Bank.
It is learned that a foreign audit firm has started a forensic audit in 6 banks with ADB funding. To complete the audit with transparency, they want none of the current MDs to be in charge. For this reason, the central bank has verbally asked them to send them on forced leave.
