BFIU summons bank accounts details of 21 journalists

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has summoned the bank account details of 21 journalists.
The BFIU, the financial intelligence agency of the central bank, has sent letters to various banks of the country seeking information about them.
A source from BFIU confirmed the matter on Sunday (January 5).
The journalists are – the daily Juganjtor editor Saiful Alam, BSS’s senior reporter Shahnaj Siddique, the Bangladesh Pratidin’s managing editor Md Ruhul Amin Rasel, the Bangladesh Pratidin’s deputy-editor Mahmud Hasan, DBC News head of news Pranab Saha, SA TV head of news Mahmud Al Faisal, Former Prime Minister’s deputy press secretary Hasan Jahid Tushar, Independent TV head of news Mamun Abdullah, Independent TV editor in chief and CEO M Shamsur Rahman, Independent TV special correspondent Animesh Kar, the daily Kalbela’s special correspondent Angur Nahar Monty, the daily Samakal’s journalist Rama Prashad, the daily Khola Kagoj’s senior reporter Jafar Ahmed, the Jatiya Arthaniti editor MG Kibria Chowdhury, Amader Somoy.com and Amader Arthaniti chief reporter Dipak Chowdhury, Ekushe TV head of input Akhil Poddar, Ekattor TV journalist Jhaumur Bari, Ekushe Sangbadh.com Editor Ziadur Rahman, MY TV Chairman Nasir Uddin Sathi, SA TV executive director Rashed Kanchan and Ekushe TV journalist Rashed Chowdhury.
