Purana Paltan building fire doused

A fire that broke out on the second floor of a four-storey building in the capital’s Purana Paltan area this morning has been brought under control.

Lima Khanom, duty officer (control room) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters, said six firefighting units brought the flame under control in over one-hour frantic efforts around 11:30am after the fire originated in the law chamber on the second floor of the four-storey building at 9:15am.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be known immediately.

However, no casualties were reported in this connection.
