A total of 100 individuals injured during the July-August uprising will get job in police force.

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said this while talking to journalists after inspecting the Special Branch (SB) and the CID headquarters on Tuesday.

The home adviser said, “Many people were killed and injured during the anti-discrimination student movement. We have discussed how to make a system of employment for those who were injured. We have sent a proposal in this regard. We have decided to give jobs to those who were injured in the police. Not everyone can be taken. Each person was injured in a different way. We have decided that we will take some of the injured in the police force. We will start the process in this regard quickly. We are going to start with about 100 injured people. Later, we will increase this number.”

“This initiative aims to help the injured regain financial stability. While we cannot offer help everywhere to all those injured, we have submitted proposals and are advising that employment can be arranged,” he said.
