Preparations for local polls being taken alongside national polls: Chief Adviser

The interim government has already announced preparations for the 13th parliamentary elections within a year and a half. Now, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has said that preparations for local government elections are also being taken alongside the national elections.

The Chief Adviser said this when Nicola Beer, the vice president of the European Investment Bank (EIB), called on him  at the State Guest House Jamuna on Wednesday.

Nicola Beer assured the Bangladesh’s interim government of its support in carrying out vital reforms it had undertaken.

“We have come in a very challenging time; we back the interim government and its reform agenda,” she said.

“It is important to make it visible that the interim government of Bangladesh is not only working but also delivering,” she added.
