Ex-MP Zinnah barred from leaving country

A Dhaka court here imposed travel ban on former Bogura-2 lawmaker Md Shariful Islam Zinnah and his wife Mohsina Akter over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Thursday (January 9), allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea against Zinnah and his wife said the former Bogura-2 lawmaker and his wife acquired properties of Tk 2.61 crore amassed illegally, transferred and transformed the properties.

The couple is trying to flee the country and a ban should be imposed against them to make them to face justice, it added.
