A Dhaka court here imposed travel embargo on Regency Hotel and Resort Chairman Musleh Uddin Ahmed and his wife Jebunnesa over graft allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Thursday (January 9), allowing a plea filed by Meftahul Zannat, Deputy Director (DD) of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC’s court inspector Amir Hossain confirmed the information.
According to the plea, the anti-graft body has formed a team to investigate the allegation of accumulating illegal assets against Musleh Uddin and his wife Jebunnesa.
During the investigation, the ACC found that Musleh Uddin with his family members is trying to leave the country secretly.
If he leaves the country, it will pose difficulties in getting important documents related to the allegation as well as hinder the overall investigation, and that is why necessary measures through special branch of police should be taken upon the consent of the court.
The court approved the plea after hearing.
