Red alert issued to capture fugitive former OC 

A red alert has been issued countrywide to capture former Officer-in-Charge (OC), who fled the Uttara East Police Station in the capital on Wednesday night.

Uttara Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Raunak Jahan confirmed the matter on Friday (January 10).

All necessary measures have been taken to locate and capture Shah Alam. The police have also filed a case regarding the escape incident.

Shah Alam, who was arrested in a murder case during the anti-discrimination movement, fled the police station on Wednesday (January 8) night. 

He was supposed to be produced before the court on Thursday. Before that, Shah Alam fled the police station at 12pm. 

Meanwhile, an SI has been suspended over the incident.
