Different programs were observed across the country demanding a ban on the followers of Maulana Muhammad Saad Al Kandhalvi of Delhi and their punishment.
On Friday (January 10), after the Jumma prayers, a protest rally was held at the north gate of the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram under the banner of ‘Ulama Mashayekh and Towhidi Janata’.
The speakers said, “On December 1, 2018, Saad followers attacked the Ijtema Maidan, injuring hundreds of worshippers and students. Similarly, on the night of December 18, 2024, they attacked sleeping worshippers. Although a few of them were arrested, they were granted anticipatory bail.”
After a brief rally, a procession was brought out from Paltan in the capital and ended at Malibagh intersection.
A tension situation has been prevailing after three people were killed in a clash between the two groups on the night of December 17 over the occupation of the Ijtema ground in Tungi.
