Former OC flees, current OC withdrawn

After an ASI was dismissed in connection with the escape of former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara East Police Station Shah Alam, the current OC of the police station, Mohibullah, has been withdrawn.
He was withdrawn and attached to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters on Friday (January 10) evening.
DMP’s Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Muhammad Talebur Rahman informed the matter.
Meanwhile, a red alert has been issued countrywide to capture the former OC.All necessary measures have been taken to locate and capture Shah Alam. The police have also filed a case regarding the escape incident, said Uttara Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Raunak Jahan.
Shah Alam, who was arrested in a murder case during the anti-discrimination movement, fled the police station on Wednesday (January 8) night.
He was supposed to be produced before the court on Thursday. Before that, Shah Alam fled the police station at 12pm.
