Attack on businessmen in Elephant Road: Two arrested

Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the attack on a businessman in the capital's Elephant Road.
The arrestees were identified as Asiful Haque Asif alias Jhantu, 32, and Md Kawsar Mridha, 24.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department, confirmed the matter on Sunday (January 12).
He said that on Friday night, a group of few individuals attacked local businessman Md Ehteshamul Haque, joint general secretary of the Elephant Road Computer Society, with hatchets and other sharp weapons, leaving him severely injured. Meanwhile, another business Md Wahidul Hasan Dipu also came under attack.
Later, Dipu filed a case with New Market Police Station last night, accusing 10 named and 20-25 unnamed individuals.
