Appointment of 6 PSC members canceled

The appointment of six members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has been canceled.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular in this regard on Monday (January 13).

The members are Prof Shahnaz Sarker, Md Munir Hossain, Brigadier General (Retd) A.F. Jaglul Ahmed, Md Mizanur Rahman, Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury and Prof Syeda Shahina Shobhan.

The six members were appointed on 2 January, and they were scheduled to take oath on 9 January. 
However, the Supreme Court, in an order, postponed the oath on 8 January following a petition of the PSC.

The government came with the decision based on information that they were somehow linked to the recently ousted Awami League.
