Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud has said, “If the political parties reach consensus, the reform works will be easier. It is the duty of present Election Commission to bring back people's voting rights and hold fair polls. We cannot imagine night voting”.
The Election Commissioner said this to journalists at the Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon in the city on Thursday (January 16).
“The commission will analyze the reform reports when the parties reach a consensus. The constitution will also be amended. When everything comes to a certain shape, we will work. If the proposals made by the Reform Commissions are implemented quickly, the commission will take another step forward in conducting fair elections.”
Abdur Rahmanel Masud said, “We are confident that if we get cooperation from everyone, we will be able to arrange a beautiful election. We need the cooperation of political parties to make the elections free, fair, acceptable and credible.”
