Arrest warrant issued against Shakib

A Dhaka court issued arrest warrants against the cricketer and former member of parliament, Shakib Al Hasan in connection with a cheque dishonour case filed by IFIC Bank.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman issued the order on Sunday (January 19).

It was learnt that Shakib Al Hasan was named in a check graft case filed by Shahibur Rahman, public relations officer of IFIC bank, on December 15.

Shakib’s company ‘Al Hasan Agro Farm’, its Managing Director, Gazi Shahagir Hossein, and directors Emdadul Haque and Malaikar Begum were made accused in the case.

Following the hearing on December 18, the court directed Shakib to appear before it on January 18.
