Ex-state minister Enamur Rahman arrested

The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested former state minister for disaster management and relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman from the capital.

Rezaul Karim Mallick, Chief of DB, said he was arrested from Bashundhara residencial area in the early hours of Monday (January 26).

Multiple cases have been filed against him regarding the July-August uprising incidents. He will be presented in court on Monday, and a remand petition will be filed.

Enamur Rahman was elected unopposed from Dhaka-19 in the 10th National Parliament election in 2014. He was the State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief. He is also the founding chairman of Enam Medical College and Hospital in Savar.
