Students from 7 colleges issue 4-hour ultimatum

Students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University gave a 4-hour ultimatum to press home their six-point demands, including the resignation of DU's pro vice-chancellor Professor Mamun Ahmed and to set up a dedicated university for the colleges.
In a press conference, the students made the demands in the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the capital around 12:00 pm on Monday (January 27).
Eden Mohila College student Sumaiya Akter Shayna said along with students from seven colleges, students from educational institutions across the country, including DU, joined the anti-fascist movement. We don’t expect any discrimination. After taking responsibility for the attack on students of seven colleges, DU's pro vice chancellor Professor Mamun Ahmed must resign from his post.
The written statement further said to resolve the situation, an immediate high-level meeting must be held between the chief advisor, education advisor, student Advisor Nahid Islam, UGC members, the Dhaka University vice-chancellor and student representatives from the seven colleges.
