All Bangladeshi peacekeepers safe in DR Congo: ISPR

All Bangladeshi peacekeepers are safe in the Democratic Republic of Congo under the ongoing violent situation.

The information was confirmed in a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Monday (January 27).

According to the ISPR, all Bangladeshi peacekeepers in DR Congo are safe amidst the ongoing conflict and constant communication is being maintained with them.

Earlier on Sunday, thirteen soldiers serving with peacekeeping forces in the Democratic Republic of Congo were killed in clashes with rebels from the M23 group.

Of the deceased, nine South Africans died helping to push back a rebel advance on the city of Goma, in eastern DR Congo, while three Malawians and a Uruguayan were also killed.
