Tk 812cr embezzlement: Case filed against Tarique Siddique, 18 others

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has lodged four cases against 19 individuals including Major General (Retd.) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, security adviser to the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for embezzling Tk812 crore in the name of development projects at the three airports including Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter on Monday (January 27).
Other accused in these cases are Mohibul Haque, the former senior secretary of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, and Mafidur Rahman, the former president of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
