Salman, Mamun placed on 3-day remand

A court in Dhaka has placed Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment affairs advisor to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun on a three-day remand in a murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Azharul Islam passed the remand order on Wednesday (January 29).
Earlier Mohammad Altaf Hossain, investigation officer of the case produced them before the court seeking five days remand.
According to the case statement, a youth named Asif received bullet injuries during the anti-discrimination student movement in the capital's Mirpur area on July 19. Later, he was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital where he died under treatment.
