Second phase of Bishwa Ijtema begins

The second phase of the 58th Bishwa Ijtema, one of the largest congregations of Muslims, began on Monday (February 3) on the banks of the Turag River in Tongi, on the outskirts of the capital.

Devotees from 22 districts, including parts of Dhaka participated in this phase.

Earlier, the first phase of the Ijtema concluded with the final prayer on Sunday. The field was then prepared quickly.

Later, the devotees of the second phase started arriving in the afternoon.

The devotees from Jatrabari, Keraniganj, Mohammadpur, Munshiganj, Jamalpur, Manikganj, Joypurhat, Sylhet, Sirajganj, Meherpur, Tangail, Pabna, Narsingdi, Savar, Kishoreganj, Cox's Bazar, Noakhali, Gopalganj, Jhalokati, Barguna, Madaripur, Shariatpur, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Naogaon, Bandarban and Dhaka are joining this phase.
