Saraswati Puja today

The Hindu community in the country is observing the Saraswati Puja nationwide today (February 3).

The festival, which falls on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the Bengali month of Maagh, marks the birth of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom, learning, and the arts.

Major Hindu temples and schools and other educational institutions including universities stage the festival with traditional gaiety and religious fervor.

The students in particular seek blessings of Goddess Saraswati in their pursuit of knowledge.

Dhakeshwari National Temple has also organized Saraswati Puja. This year, the puja will be held in 37 mandap at Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University.
