Task force formed to address illegal foreigners

The interim government has formed an 11-member task force to address the issue of foreign nationals residing illegally in Bangladesh.
This was confirmed in a notification issued by the Exit-2 Branch of the Security Services Division under the Home Ministry on Monday (February 3).
The Additional Secretary (Security and Immigration) of the Home Ministry’s Security Services Division will serve as the convener of the task force, while the Joint Secretary of the Immigration-2 Branch will act as the member secretary.
Other members of the task force include: Director General of the Office of the Chief Adviser, Director General (Consular) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Joint Secretary of the Political-1 Branch of the Public Security Division, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Immigration), Special Branch, Additional Director General of the Immigration and Passport Department (Passport, Visa and Immigration), Director (Operations Wing) of Border Guard Bangladesh, Director of the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Office of the Chief Adviser, Director of the National Security Intelligence (External Relations and Liaison Wing), and Director of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (External Affairs and Liaison Bureau).
The task force has been assigned to coordinate and provide advisory support on all activities related to illegal foreign nationals in Bangladesh.
It will have the authority to issue instructions for necessary actions and formulate recommendations as required. Additionally, the committee can invite any officer or individual to attend meetings if needed and co-opt members when necessary.
