Travel ban imposed on S Alam’s brother-in-law

A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on S Alam group owner Mohammed Saiful Alam alias S Alam’s brother-in-law and Armanda Spinning Mills owner Mohammad Arshad.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Monday (February 3), allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC in its plea said Md Arshad looted Taka a couple of hundred crore from different institutions and kept those under his possession. He invested the money in factories owned by his wife and laundered the money abroad.
He is also accused of amassing huge illegal wealth in his own and his family members’ names.
