Students of Government Titumir College have withdrawn their movement for one week as the authorities have assured them of forming a new committee on their demands.
Nayek Noor Mohammad, a member of the advisory committee of Titumir Oikya, confirmed the matter to the media on Monday night.
At that time, the students broke their hunger strike in the presence of Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education Nuruzzaman and Principal of Government Titumir College Professor Shipra Rani Mandal.
The principal fed them packaged mango juice to break the hunger strike.
Earlier students blocked the rail line in the capital’s Mohakhali to press home their seven demands including the college to be transformed into a university.
