Case against Prince Mamun goes to trial

A court in Dhaka has ordered to begin the trial of TikTok star Abdullah Al Mamun alias Prince Mamun through charge framing in a case filed on charges of assault and attempt to murder.
Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mahbubul Haque passed the order rejecting his plea for release.
The court also fixed March 1 for the next hearing in the case.
Both the accused and the plaintiff, Laila Akhter, were present in court during the proceedings.
Earlier on December 12, 2023, Laila lodged the case with the cantonment police station.
