Court orders to freeze 15 bank accounts of Qamrul Islam

A Dhaka court has ordered to freeze 15 bank accounts of former Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam.
There are three crore 55 lakh 10 thousand 183 taka in these accounts.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib delivered the verdict on Wednesday, following a plea filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC application stated that there is an ACC case against Qamrul Islam. There are three crore 55 lakh 10 thousand 183 taka in these accounts. The bank accounts need to be frozen for the sake of a fair investigation of the case.
On November 18, the police arrested Qamrul Islam from Sector 12 of Uttara in the capital.
The next day, on November 19, he was put on a remand in a murder case filed with New Market Police Station. There are several more murder cases against him. Kamrul Islam is currently in jail.
