Sarjis Alam injured 

Sarjis Alam, chief organiser of the Jatiyo Nagorik Committee and a prominent leader of the Students Against Discrimination, was injured in a private car accident on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred around 9:15 pm in front of the British Council in the Dhaka University area.

According to sources, Sarjis was travelling to Bangla Motor while driving past the British Council, a child suddenly ran in front of his car.

In an attempt to avoid hitting the child, Alam reportedly slammed on the brakes, causing the private car to hit a road divider.

After the accident, Alam received initial treatment at the eye department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
