Shaon arrested, Jamalpur residence set on fire 

The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested actress, singer and producer Meher Afroz Shaon from the capital’s Dhanmondi area on Thursday night.

Additional Commissioner of BD police Rezaul Karim Mollik confirmed the matter.

Earlier on Thursday evening, agitated people  set fire to his father’s residenc at Narundi in Jamalpur residence.  

She came into a debate after her political remarks on social media.

Shaon was the wife of writer and director Humayun Ahmed. She was born to Mohammad Ali, an engineer, and Tahura Ali who was three times parliament member.
