Want to return to work after national election in December: Chief Adviser

United Arab Emirates minister calls on Chief Adviser

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has said that he wants to return to his work after the national election in December.

He said, “All the elections under Sheikh Hasina were fake.”

The Chief Adviser said this while addressing the World Government Summit in Dubai on Thursday (February 13).

At the time, he thanked the entire world for standing by Bangladesh.

In response to a query, Yunus said that some of the interim government's priorities include ensuring law and order and rebuilding the country, society, and institutions, which he said had completely failed under the previous autocratic government led by Sheikh Hasina.

Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, minister of health of the United Arab Emirates, also called on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai.

“We learn from people like you,” the UAE health minister said as they discussed various aspects of the WGS.

The minister also greeted the Chief Adviser for leading Bangladesh at a crucial moment in the country's history.

He hoped that Bangladesh-UAE relationships would deepen during the tenure of the Interim Government and both nations would expand trade, business, and health ties in the coming days.

Chief Adviser Professor Yunus said he was impressed with the progress made by the UAE in the health sector and prevention of major diseases.

He also thanked the UAE for hosting over a million Bangladeshis.
