Italy’s vice foreign minister to visit Bangladesh 

Italy's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Maria Tripodi will visit Bangladesh from February 18 to 20 in deepening the bilateral relations between the two countries. 

“During the visit, Bangladesh is expected to prioritize issues such as the swift and effective resolution of migration-related complexities,” said foreign ministry’s spokesperson Mohammad Rafiqul Alam at the weekly media briefing at the ministry on Thursday afternoon.  

He said the vise minister is expected to meet with the Chief Adviser, Foreign Affairs adviser and Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment adviser.

“This is the first ministerial visit from Italy in the last eight years and it is the first ministerial visit from a European Union member state since the current interim government assumed office,” said the spokesperson.
