Six months after the formation of the interim government, the three-day Deputy Commissioner (DC) Conference is set to kick off today (February 16).
A total of 353 proposals have been scheduled for discussion in the conference, which will conclude on February 18.
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the conference at 10:30 am on Sunday at Shapla Hall in the Chief Adviser’s Office.
Following the inauguration, the Chief Adviser will engage in an open discussion with the DCs. Later in the evening, a meeting will be held with the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association, followed by a dinner with the Chief Adviser.
On the second day, in addition to formal sessions, the DCs will pay a courtesy visit to the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court. This year, there will be no courtesy meeting with the President.
According to sources from the Cabinet Division, the division received 1,245 proposals from divisional commissioners and DCs in connection with the conference. Of these, 353 proposals will be included in the agenda for discussion. Some proposals were excluded from the agenda due to disagreements with relevant ministries and departments, or because they had already been presented at previous DC conferences.
During the conference, 34 working sessions will be held with various ministries and divisions at Osmani Memorial Hall. However, sessions with the Cabinet Division and the closing session will be conducted at the newly constructed Cabinet Division building at the Secretariat.
