Shakil Ahmed, Farzana Rupa placed on 5-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed journalist couple Shakil Ahmed and Farzana Rupa on a 5-day remand in a case filed over the death of a man named Anwar Hossain Patwari during Anti-discrimination Student Movement protest.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaque passed the remand order on Monday (February 17).

Earlier Investigation Officer Inspector Nasir Uddin Sarker produced the accused before the court seeking 5-day remand.

On August 5, Anwar was shot dead in Mirpur. Later, his father, Al Amin Patwary, filed a murder case with the Mirpur Model Police Station.
