Menon, Inu placed on 3-day remand

A Dhaka court placed former minister Rashed Khan Menon and Hasanul Haque Inu on three-day remand each in a case filed over the murder of Anwar Hossain Patwari in the city’s Mirpur area during the student-led July-August mass uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the order on Monday (February 17) as CID Inspector Nasir Uddin Sarker, also the investigating officer of the case, produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them on a three-day remand each in the case.
Former information minister Hasanul Haque Inu was arrested on August 26, while Manon was arrested from the city’s Gulshan area on August 22.
Anwar Hossain Patwari was killed in Mirpur-10 intersection area on August 5. His father Al Amin Patwari filed the case with the Mirpur Model Police Station in this connection.
