Court freezes 20 bank accounts of Nasrul, his wife

A Dhaka court has passed an order to freeze 20 bank accounts of former State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid and his wife Seema Hamid.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on based on a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The investigative officer of the case mentioned in the plea that there were a total of two crore 10 lac 97,116 taka in those bank accounts.
The ACC’s plea said it filed a case at the integrated district office, Dhaka-1 as the accused had illegally earned Taka six crore 98 lac 54,964, which are inconsistent with their income sources and depositing of Taka 12 crore 77 lac 86,699 in 20 bank accounts and transaction of Taka 11 crore 18 lac 49,818 illegally or in a dubious and abnormal way or to cover up the illegal sources of the income.
