2 killed in joint forces’ drive in Mohammadpur

Two people were killed and five others were arrested in a drive conducted by joint forces at Mohammadpur in Dhaka on Wednesday night (February 19).
The identities of the deceased and details of the operation could not be ascertained immediately.
Police said that the joint forces received a tip-off about some terrorists took position at Chand Udyan of Mohammadpur area around 12:00 am. When the law enforcers launched a drive and reached the spot, the terrorists entered into a house. Meanwhile, the joint forces asked them to surrender but the terrorists opened fire indiscriminately. In reply, the law enforcers opened fire. Later, the two bodies were recovered and five individuals were arrested from the spot.
Mohammadpur police station Duty Officer said the bodies were sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
