Advisers pay homage to language heroes

Advisers to the interim government paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the historic Language Movement, on the occasion of ‘Shaheed Dibash’ (Martyrs’ Day) and the International Mother Language Day.
Marking the “Amar Ekushey” in the very early hours of Friday (February 21), the advisers paid homage to the language movement heroes, the valiant sons of this soil who made supreme sacrifice to establish Bangla as the mother language in 1952, by placing wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in the city.
Besides, chief justice, chiefs of the three services, vice-chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University (DU), freedom fighters, diplomats and high civil and military officials paid homage to the language movement heroes by placing wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Prof Dr. Asif Nazrul, Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Nahid Islam, Adviser to the Ministries of Social Welfare, and Women and Children Affairs Sharmeen S Murshid, Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter and others paid homage to the language movement heroes.
