Jamaat to stage mass sit-in program in front of CA’s office

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will stage a mass sit-in program in front of the office of the chief adviser, demanding the unconditional release of the party's Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam.

Jamaat leaders and activists will stage the mass sit-in program from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on February 25.

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Parwar   announced this at a program on Friday (February 21).

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was present as the chief guest.

On Thursday,  Dr Shafiqur expressed his frustration over the repeated delays in granting bail to Azharul Islam, who remains confined despite the release of other national leaders.   

He said, “Dear countrymen. You must have noticed that ATM Azharul Islam, a victim of brutal fascist oppression, is still in prison,” Shafiqur said.
