The new timing will be effective for all the government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday (February 24).

Currently, the regular office timing for government employees is from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Besides, banks, insurance, other financial institutions, postal services, railways, hospitals, state-owned industrial institutions, factories and other emergency service-providers will fix their respective office hours as per their own laws or rules, considering public interest, it mentioned.
However, the Bangladesh Supreme Court (SC) will fix the office timing for all courts across the country, the notification added.
